International Financial Institution
MADGI teamed up with this International Financial Institution to relocate and recreate their NYC corporate office. The design focus was to create an office space that could host large events without compromising the workspace feel. The scheme incorporated new company wide European design standards while maintaining its own identity. The 9,000 SF office space was a choice piece of NYC real estate located in midtown Manhattan with beautiful views and floor to ceiling perimeter windows. Flanked by full height windows on three sides, the design capitalized on this opportunity by creating open workstations along the south facade with automatic shading devices, allowing natural light to penetrate the space. The rest of the windows were dedicated to common functions such as small conference rooms, and a large board room that can be subdivided into smaller meeting rooms via acoustical partitions. Creating a modern, cheerful, and spatially democratic space was elemental for the client, which was further enhanced with warm wood accents, concrete floors, and a splash of the company’s corporate colors throughout the space. The open floor plan combines full-time employees seating arrangements plus smaller touchdown spaces for remote workers and interns. Acoustical ceiling planks for a clean sleek appearance were incorporated in the open area and perimeter rooms, while floating baffles flanked over the pantry and open seating/breakout area, allowed for a visual focus and break in the ceiling plane. Utilizing double glazed office front systems provides additional sound privacy. The space boasts of charcoal-color metal panels at the lobby walls with recessed light fixtures that run contiguous from ceiling to the floor. The visual axis from the elevator lobby to the reception desk creates a strong sense of direction and pulls you into the space with focus on the company’s crest logo.
